An annual series created and produced by Kátia Moraes, Brazilian Heart, a Celebration, proudly in its sixth year, pays homage to renowned artists from Brazil with two sets of adventurous music and spoken word at The Electric Lodge in Venice, CA.
In this year's event, 12 Brazilian female singer/songwriters recognize International Women's Day by performing the music of jazz artists from Brazil, and classics recorded by Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, and Nina Simone, interwoven with poetry and stories.
The performance also pays homage to Antonio Carlos Jobim, who would have been 90 years old in 2017, and to the centennial of Ella Fitzgerald.
